The path followed by vecco:net
vecco:net offers a platform for concerned companies to develop successful strategies and solutions for the substitution of Cr(VI) based processes in hard chrome plating and other functional coatings and to bring them to application maturity. Other REACh relevant substances will be included as needed.
vecco:net started on July 1, 2021 with 35 participating companies and research institutions. Work within vecco:net is substantially funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.
vecco:net was founded as an initiative of Vecco e.V. and eiffo eG together with the Dutch Surface Technology Association Vereniging ION and the Austrian Surface Technology Working Group (AOT). The establishment and management of the network as well as the support of the companies in the implementation of measures has been taken over by eiffo eG (www.eiffo.de) together with Innovat.ION (https://vereniging-ion.nl/stichting-innovation ).
The initiative is open to further interested and committed participants. It pursues the goal to establish a common European innovation platform.
Open platform
vecco:net is designed as an open and growing innovation platform that other interested surface technology companies, research institutes and also associations can join.
Participation requires the conclusion of a cooperation and confidentiality agreement and, for companies and other economically active organizations, a membership fee.
Interested parties may contact the network management at eiffo eG or Innovat.ION or one of the participating associations for further information.

Joint initiative
The associations AOT, ION and VECCO together with eiffo eG and Innovat.ION intend to establish a European innovation platform for sustainable coating technologies.
The aim is to create a basis for continuous support to the member companies of the associations, in the development and implementation of substitution measures for Cr(VI) and other SVHC substances in accordance with the REACh Regulation. This joint innovation platform is also open to other companies and associations.
